2014 World Series Betting Odds

The Tigers have the lowest odds to win the World Series at but the race for this year’s World Series is still wide open with a bunch of teams still having a shot with over a 100 games left to go.

Detroit Tigers
Odds: +600

Not only do the Tigers have the best record in baseball, but they also have the biggest division lead. Detroit has been solid at home and on the road this season and reigning MVP Miguel Cabrera, who ranks 2nd in the AL in RBI and 5th in batting average, leads an offense that ranks 8th in runs scored. Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer. Lead a staff that ranks 14th in runs scored.

Los Angeles Dodgers
Odds: +650

The Dodgers are 5.5 games back of the San Francisco Giants in the NL West, but got their Ace back recently in Clayton Kershaw, who spent the first part of the season on the DL. Zach Greinke has filled in as the Ace ranking in the top 5 in the NL in wins and ERA and Josh Beckett is coming off a no-hitter. The offense has been playing well ranking 9th in the Majors in runs.

St Louis Cardinals
Odds: +900

The Cardinals sit in 2nd place in the NL Central and have been playing well and now only trail the Milwaukee Brewers by 1.5 games. Ace Adam Wainwright ranks 1st in the NL in wins and 2nd in ERA and is the anchor of a staff that ranks 6th in team ERA. The pitching has been solid, but the offense only ranks 21st in runs.

San Francisco Giants
Odds: +900

While Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum are struggling the Giants’ staff still ranks 3rd in the Majors in team ERA. Madison Bumgarner may be the Ace now and addition Tim Hudson is the off-season has paid off. The offense has been solid ranking 10th in runs.

Oakland Athletics
Odds: +1000

The A’s are in first place in the AL West and while they have no big game superstars they have the best record in baseball. Sonny Gray leads the AL in ERA and is the leader of a staff that ranks 2nd in team ERA. The offense is also solid ranking 2nd in runs scored and Brandon Moss has 11 HR and ranks 4th in the AL in RBI.

Toronto Blue Jays
Odds: +1100

The Blue Jays are in first place in the AL East, 3 games up on Yankees and are currently the hottest team in the majors. Toronto has won 9 in a row and 14 of their last 16. The Jays are 6th in team batting average, 2nd in hits, 1st in runs and 1st in home runs. The Jay pitching staff ranks 24th with a team ERA of 4.19.

Washington Nationals
Odds: +1200

The Nationals are 3.5 games back of the Atlanta Braves in the NL East and injuries has been a major issue this season. However, some of their key bats are back in the lineup, which should help them improve on their 18th ranking in runs. Their pitching has been solid all season ranking 5th in team ERA.

New York Yankees
Odds: +1400

The Yankees are still in the AL East race, only 3 games back of Toronto, but they have some big issues. Masahiro Tanaka has been great in his first season in MLB, but overall the New York staff only ranks 21st in team ERA. Mark Teixeira is having a good season and the offense has been decent ranking 12th in runs.

Atlanta Braves
Odds: +1400

The Braves are leading the NL East and their pitching has the best team ERA, but their offense has struggled all season and only ranks 29th in runs scored.

Los Angeles Angels
Odds: +1400

The Angels are hot and they are only 1.5 games back of the Oakland A’s in the AL West. Albert Pujols has had a comeback season and his power is back ranking 4th in the AL in HR. The Halos have the Majors 12th best team ERA and rank 5th in runs scored.

Milwaukee Brewers
Odds: +1600

The Brewers are in first place in the NL Central and they have the 7th best team ERA in the Majors. The offense has been decent ranking 17th in runs scored.

Boston Red Sox
Odds: +2500

The Red Sox are the defending World Series champions, but they are reeling losers of 10 straight and they sit in last place in the AL East 9 games back of the Blue Jays. Their pitching and offense has struggled this season, as neither ranks in the top 16 in team ERA and runs scored.
