No disputing the scheduled starters abilities, but the back numbers in this set up suggest that it may not be the pitching duel expected by the linesmakers. The Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg has been horrendous on the road this season allowing 13 hits and 10 earned runs in 10 innings. His numbers against the Phillies are not thrilling with Revere, Gwynn, Ruiz, Byrd and Gravis hitting him for average in limited at bats. Philadelphia starter Cliff Lee is off to a good start this season and while he is 0-2 at home he has pitched well with a 2.40 earned run average in 2 starts. Lee’s success against the Nationals’ batters is a different story with most of the expected line up tearing it up against him. It also doesn’t hurt that Washington is hitting .329 versus left handers this season.
Take OVER 6.5 -120.
