Alex Cobb was sharp in his return from a strained left oblique pitching 6 2/3 innings of shutout ball. Cobb has now not allowed a run in 21 2/3 innings. Historically some of the jays have done well against Cobb in limited at bats and they did get to him for 4 runs in 5 innings in his first start of the season. I believe the key is that 3 of those runs were in a shakey 1st inning and that on the season he has allowed 1 run in 25 2/3 since then. In his career he is 2-1 with a 2.95 ERA against the Blue Jays. Toronto starter Mark Buehrle is having a career season with an impressive 8-1 record with a miniscule 2.16 earned run average in 10 starts. He opened the season against the Rays allowing 4 hits and zero runs in 8 2/3 innings and has only one hiccup on the season. He has had quality starts in 3 out of his last 4 starts versus Tampa Bay including back to back. Both teams can give the scoreboard a workout, but I think the starting pitching is strong enough here to warrant a play on the under.
Take UNDER 8.5.
