St. Louis Cardinals vs. L.A. Dodgers Moneyline Pick

Time: 10:10 PM EST Thursday June 26, 2014

Location: Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, California

The L.A. Dodgers host the St. Louis Cardinals in a National League match up.

In their last games: The Dodgers beat the Kansas City Royals 5-4 and the Cardinals beat the Colorado Rockies 9-6.

Kansas City’s Wade Davis hit A.J. Ellis with a pitch with the bases loaded in the top of the 8th inning forcing home the game-winning run in the Dodgers 5-4 win over the Royals yesterday.

In their win over the Rockies the Cardinals scored 5 runs in the last 3 innings for the comeback win.

This is the first meeting of these 2 teams this season.

The Dodgers are 1-5 in Josh Beckett’s last 6 home starts.

In the last 7 games between these 2 teams the Under record is 5-2.

Moneyline Pick:

The obvious play here would be the Under with Wainwright having a season ERA of 2.08 and Beckett 2.28. In their last three games both pitchers have been exceptional with Wainwright having a 0.91 WHIP and 1.17 ERA and Beckett 0.70 WHIP and 1.35 ERA. The problem with the under here is that Beckett is unlikely to go more than 6 frames making the chances high that the BP will be of big importance to a total wager tonight. Also add to the fact that the Cardinals bats have been heating up scoring 31 runs in their last 5 (Yes I know 22 runs in 3 games in batter friendly Colorado) and betting the under 6.5 appears to be not the way to go. St. Louis has won 12 of Wainwright’s starts in 2014 and make that 13 after tonight. Take St. Louis Cardinals -105.
