Cardinals’ starter Jaime Garcia made his first big league start in just over a year last Sunday and pitched adequately allowing 4 runs over 7 innings. That start was at home and against the scoring challenged Atlanta Braves and arguably Cincinnati is in the same class, but he will have to face them on the road. Tony Cingrani gets the ball for the Reds and he’s started twice against the Cards this season with a less than impressive start in St. Louis allowing 3 runs in 4 innings and a super sharp outing at home going 7 innings and allowing 2 hits and zero runs. That being said Cingrani made his first start in 18 days last Sunday after being on the disabled list with a shoulder issue. It is reported that he did not look sharp and was getting hit hard by the Phillies. He may have been rusty with the extra time off, but he’ll have to prove that before I back him. St. Louis is the hot team here winning 7 of their last 9 and while they are not as strong on the road they’re the play here.
