Seattle Seahawks (2-1) vs. Washington Redskins (1-3)
The Redskins are at the bottom of the NFC East and they were crushed in their last game last Thursday. They now face the defending Super Champion Seattle Seahawks, who are coming off an OT, are coming off a bye week, and are 8-0 in their last 8 Monday night games.
Kirk Cousins had 2 solid games after replacing the injured Robert Griffin III, but he wants to forget about the last loss when he was picked off 4 times. The Redskins need to get back to running the ball, which is their strength on offense, and that is a tough task facing a Seattle run defense that ranks 5th in the league.
In their last games the Seahawks beat the Denver Broncos 26-20 in OT and the Redskins lost to the New York Giants 45-14.
The Seahawks are 2-1 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 2-1 and the Redskins are 2-2 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 3-1.
This season the Redskins are 1-1 at home and the Seahawks are 0-1 on the road.
Russell Wilson has not been putting up big numbers, but has played well and he led the Seahawks to a long game-winning drive in OT in their last game. While he has a decent WR corps Percy Harvin leads the team with 106 receiving yards and Wilson has many options at his disposal. The Redskins rank 14th in the league in pass defense, but in their last 2 games they have given up at least 295 passing yards in each.
Washington gave up 154 rushing yards in the loss to the Giants and they will get a heavy dose of Marshawn Lynch in this game. After rushing for 110 yards in the season opener he has only combined to rush for 124 yards in his last 2 games. However, the last times these 2 teams faced off was in the 2012 playoffs in Washington where Lynch rushed for 132 yards and a TD.
Cousins has a great WR corps and the Skins have 5 players that have at least 135 receiving yards. His offensive line must play better in this game to protect their QB, as Cousins is not very mobile.
Alfred Morris ranks 5th in the league in rushing yards and he played well in the Giants game, but the Skins were down early and had to air it out to come back. Washington needs to establish the ground game early and not get in a big hole like they did against New York last Thursday night.
The Seahawks are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games, 4-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record, and they have an Under record of 8-3 in their last 11 games.
The Redskins are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games following a SU loss of more than 14 points, ATS in their last 8 Monday games, and they have an Over record of 5-1 in their last 6 games facing a team with a winning record.
The Seahawks are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games against the Redskins.

The Seahawks are certainly rested after a bye week and if rust hasn’t formed then their defense should have extra energy this week. Seattle’s yards per point numbers don’t compare to last season at this stage in the season, but remember that this defense has faced Arron Rodgers, Philip Rivers and Peyton Manning in their 3 games this season. Even with taking on 3 of the he league’s top passers they rank 16th in the league in scoring defense and are 0.8 of a point from the top 10. They face a Washington team that scored 34 and 41 against two of the worst defenses in the league but only 6 and 14 when facing an average or better defense. The Redskins have issues in their secondary but are facing a team that prefers to run and may not exploit that to its fullest.
