Point Spread Selection : The Scarlet Knights still have a shot at a bowl game with a win this week or next and it goes without saying that the bowl quality will increase if they can win both games to get to 7 wins. They’ll have a good shot to get their 6th on Saturday at Connecticut. The Huskies have won a total of one game this season beating the equally hapless Temple 28-21. Once again Connecticut was out gained by their opponent but they were opportunistic finishing the day with a plus 2 turnover ratio. Rutgers has struggled in AAC play against the top dogs, but we believe part of the responsibility has to go to QB Gary Nova who has given the team weak QB play over their last 5 games. An experienced Chas Dodd takes over behind center and should provide a needed spark to the offense.
We like the Scarlet Knights to get back on track this week against a poor Huskies team. It’s a square play, but it’s the right one.
Take the Rutgers Scarlet Knights -3 at 5Dimes and get reduced juice on every play.
