Notre Dame vs. No. 23 LSU
Time: 3 PM EST Tuesday December 30, 2014, ESPN
In their last games of the regular season Notre Dame lost to USC 49-14 and LSU beat Texas A&M 23-17.
The Notre Dame offense had no trouble putting up points on the board scoring an average of 33 points per game to rank 41st in the nation. On the other side of the ball it wasn’t pretty allowing 29.3 points per game to rank 85th.
The LSU Tigers defense like seasons past was their strength this season allowing the 3rd least points per game in the country with 16.4. Other top 10 rankings included No. 8 in total yards allowed per game and No. 4 in passing yards allowed per game. Offense wasn’t a strong point ranking 116th in passing yards per game and 80th in total yards per game. They did do a decent job running the ball amassing an average of 219.5 per game to rank 30th in the nation.
Against the betting numbers Notre Dame was a poor spread bet going 5-7 against the line. But were a very good over play with a 7-4-1 mark. LSU was gold all season to its backers with an impressive 8-3-1 record ATS and under was a common winning total bet with 8 of their 12 games going under the posted total line.

Free Pick to Bet
I like the idea that Notre Dame is going with two QB’s for their Music City Bowl game with Golson and Zaire both expected to see action. In my opinion that should lower the scoring in this game. I believe Zaire will run the ball more frequently eating up clock and lowering the turnover rate that has resulted in the Fighting Irish’s dreadful defensive yards per point of 13.7. LSU’s defense has held its last 5 opponents to 17 or fewer points and on the season to 9 of its 12.
