Our Selection : Iowa favored over Northwestern just doesn’t feel right to us. The Hawkeyes run stop unit has been solid holding 4 of their 7 opponents to 74 or fewer yards rushing per game. That number has gone up though as the competition has improved with Michigan State 135, Northern Illinois 163 and Ohio State 273.
The Wildcats are expected to be without top RB Venric Mark and while that’s a big blow to their running game we do expect it to get back on track. Solid Hawkeye defensive lineman Dominic Alvis is one of the keys to their run defense but will not be available this week.
Northwestern does get back mobile QB Kain Coulter who may cause Iowa fits on Saturday.
It always tough to beat the Hawkeyes at home, but we believe that the Wildcats will give them more than they can handle this week and we feel an outright win is a strong possibility. the prudent play is on the point spread where we can grab the field goal and the hook.
