New Orleans Saints vs. Seattle Seahawks Total Pick

Time: 4:35 PM EST January 11, 2014, FOX
Location: Turf of Centurylink Field
In their latest games the New Orleans Saints lead through most of the game in Philadelphia until late when they needed a field goal as time expired to get the 26-24 win.
The Seattle Seahawks had a bye week.
These two teams played earlier in the season on December 2nd here at CenturyLink Field with the Seahawks soundly beating them 34-7.
The Seahawks put up 429 yards in that game, but their offense has sputtered since with a game high 327 in their last 3.
The Saints after losing 3 straight and 4 of their last 5 road tilts finally got a well deserved victory on the road in frosty Philadelphia last week.
On the stats front both of these teams rank in the top 10 in scoring, but excluding a Week 17 blowout of Tampa Bay neither has been scoring well.
Defensively the Seahawks lead the league in scoring defense with 14.4 points allowed, but what may surprise many is that the Saints are right behind in 4th place allowing 19 PPG.

Total Line Pick
The Saints finished in the top 5 in defense this season. Yes the Seahawks blew them up for 37 points in their Week 13 game on the very same field they will play on Saturday. It will be different this time around. New Orleans was unprepared in the earlier matchup and that will not happen again this week. The Saints wore the Eagles out last week with their power running game racking up 185 yards on the ground. They didn’t use power run formations in the earlier matchup but the 49ers and the Cardinals did resulting in low scoring wins over Seattle for both teams.
Speaking of offenses, where has the Seahawks gone? They did put up 27 against an uninterested Rams team in Week 17, but 50 combined points in their 3 previous games certainly doesn’t suggest that this offense is running on all cylinders. Including the Week 17 game vs. St. Louis Russell Wilson has not passed for over 200 yards in his last 4 games. The Seahawks did pass for 302 in against the Saints may catch a break this week if New Orleans’ top CB Keenan Lewis can’t go (Check Injury Reports).
Even he doesn’t go we would lean to the under and if he’s available we believe the total is worthy of a decent sized bet.
