Big 10 Futures Odds
With Braxton Miller back Ohio State is the odds on betting favorite at Bovada to win the Big 10 Conference. Wisconsin and Michigan State are two solid teams which is reflected by the linesmaker making them the second and third choice on the futures board.
Ohio St – Odds: +140
Miller has some Heisman buzz heading into the season and it helps that he has some speedsters around him in the WR corps The team lost their starting RB, but they have some young guys that have a ton of talent and on defense the line may be one of the best in the nation. The schedule is a favorable one, but they are on the road for this HUGE game facing Michigan State.
Wisconsin – Odds: +300
RB Melvin Gordon rushed for over 1,450 yards last season and he and 4 offensive linemen are back. Junior Joel Stave is under center and the defense should be solid again ranking 6th last season. The schedule is really in their favor since they do not have to face Ohio State or Michigan State.
Michigan St – Odds: +325
MSU won the Big 10 title and the Rose Bowl last season and with QB Connor Cook and RB Jeremy Langford back they have a chance to do so again. However, the defense lost 6 starters and that is a big concern. They do play Oregon on the road in their 2nd game, but their 2 big conference games facing Ohio State and Michigan are in their house.
Iowa – Odds: +1000
Iowa returns QB Jake Rudock, leading rusher Mark Weisman, and leading receiver Kevonte Martin-Manle, but the squad lost some key players for a defense that ranks 9th in the nation last season. The Hawkeyes do have to play Wisconsin, but not Michigan State, Ohio State, or Michigan.
Northwestern – Odds: +1200
QB Trevor Siemian and RB Venric Mark. Are both back for the Wildcats, who finished 5-7 last season, but this season do not face OSU or Michigan State. The defense has already had some big injuries and that is a concern. Last season Northwestern only ranked 69th in the nation on defense.
Michigan – Odds: +1500
The Wolverines had 11 wins last season, but they will have a very young team this season. Devin Gardner is back at QB, but the team lost their star WR. The defense returns all 3 of their starting LB’s and the secondary has some young talent, especially in prized CB recruit Jabrill Peppers.
Nebraska – Odds: +1500
Tommy Armstrong is under center this season and he has a couple of great playmakers in RB Ameer Abdullah and WR Kenny Bell. DE Randy Gregory led the Big 10 in sacks last season, but overall the defense is a concern since they only return 3 starters. While the Huskers do not face Ohio State they do hit the road to face Wisconsin and Michigan State.
