NBA Pick Chicago Bulls vs. Detroit Pistons Betting Odds

The 24-44 Detroit Pistons host the 42-28 Chicago Bulls in an Eastern Conference match up on 3/21/2015 at The Palace of Auburn Hills, Detroit, MI; Tipoff is at 7:30 PM ET.

Betting Odds

Point Spread: Bulls -2
Over/Under Total Line: 193.5

In their last game the Bulls were at home and beat the Toronto Raptors 108-92 where they covered the spread as the 1.5-point favorite. That was the 2nd straight game where Chicago has covered the spread. The total for the Toronto game went Over and while the previous game went Under the total for the 5 games before that all went Over. Overall, the Bulls have won 2 in a row and they are 5-5 in their last 10 games.

This season the Bulls are 16-20 ATS at home and 16-18 ATS on the road. They have failed to cover the spread in 4 of their last 5 road games including their last 2. The Over has been the winning bet for the Bulls at home (O/U 22-14), but the Under has been the winning bet on the road (O/U 13-20-1). However, in their last 3 road games the posted total has gone Over every time. The Bulls have lost 4 of their last 5 road games.

The Pistons lost to the Philadelphia 76ers on the road 94-83 in their last game and they failed to cover the spread as the 1-point favorite. In the previous 2 games they had covered. The total for the 76ers game went Under and in their last 10 games the Under has been the winning bet 7 times. Before their loss to the 76ers the Pistons beat the Memphis Grizzlies and that snapped their 10-game losing streak.

This season the Pistons have been a much better betting team on the road (18-16 ATS) than at home (14-20 ATS). They covered in their last home game, but failed to cover the spread in their previous 3 at home. In their last 10 games overall Detroit has only played 2 home games. The Pistons have an O/U home record of 18-15-1 while on the road they have an O/U record of 10-23-1. In their last 3 games at home the posted total has gone Over every time.

This is the 3rd game of the season between these 2 teams and each has won at home with the Pistons winning 100-91 in the last match up on February 20th. While the home team has covered the spread in the 2 games between these 2 teams this season the road team is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 games. In the last game between these 2 teams at Detroit the posted total went Under while the first match up in Chicago went Over.

Some other angles to consider:

The Bulls are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games against the Pistons in Detroit.

The road team is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 games between these 2 teams.

In the last 32 games between these 2 teams in Detroit the Over record is 21-9-2.

This season the Pistons are 13-21 at home and the Bulls are 20-14 on the road.

NBA Pick

The Bulls have been banged up as of late, but they recently got back key reserve Taj Gibson, who has averaged 20 ppg and 7.3 rpg in his last 3 games facing the Pistons in Detroit. Chicago lost at Detroit in their last game there, but they have won 10 of their last 12 games facing the Pistons in Motor City.

The Pistons will likely be without their leading scorer and rebounder in Greg Monroe tonight. I have to go with the Bulls in this game, as while the Pistons won their last home facing a solid Grizzlies’ team they are reeling and they lost their last game to the 76ers, who have the fewest wins in the league. In that game they only scored 83 points and shot 33% from the floor.

Take the BULLS -2
