This will be Brewers’ starter Kyle Lohse 3rd start against the Pirates this season and he’s owned them. Lohse got the win in both games holding the Pirates to 8 hits and 2 runs in 15 innings. Quality outings have been the norm for the Brewers’ right hander who has 10 quality starts on the season. He hit a bump in the road at home versus the Orioles two starts back getting blown up for 4 runs but bounced back in a big way with a complete game shutout against the Cubs. Inexperienced Brandon Cumpton goes for the home team and he did pitch well in his only start there this season pitching 7 innings of 2 run ball against the Reds. Cumpton is winless on the season and is coming off of his worst start of his career where he was tagged for 10 earned runs in 3 2/3 innings. On paper we get the team with the better record, starting pitcher and offense playing a team they have beat 5 out of 6 games this season. It also doesn’t hurt that this will be Pittsburgh first game back after a 8 game West Coast trip. Take Milwaukee Brewers -116.
