Point Spread: Virginia -7.5
Total Line: OFF
The Virginia Cavaliers host the Louisville Cardinals in an ACC match up.
In their last games: Louisville beat Miami 63-55 and Virginia beat North Carolina 75-64.
This is the first game between these 2 top 10 teams this season and they face each other again at Louisville in the season finale.
Virginia has the nation’s top defense only allowing an average of 50.8 ppg and Louisville ranks 20th on that end of the floor.
Virginia’s only loss this season came at home facing Duke on January 31st.
All 3 of Louisville’s losses on the season have come against top 25 teams.
Here are some additional handicapping angles to ponder:
Louisville covered the spread in their last win over Miami, but they have only covered in 1 of their last 5 games after an ATS win.
Louisville is 5-1 on the road this season and Virginia is 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games facing a team with a winning road record.

Both teams have lost to Duke and while the Cardinals have lost two more games than the Cavaliers it’s not like they have lost to poor competition. A one point loss on the road to No. 12 ranked North Carolina and an eight point loss at home in their first match after the holidays against No. 1 ranked Kentucky is nothing to be ashamed about. Louisville hasn’t been a bettor’s best friend this season with a 7-12-2 mark against the betting line, but they are plus money on the road and that’s where my money is going to land on this game.
