Over/Under Pick : If you were like us you were surprised when the lowly Jaguars marched into Houston and were not only competitive, they won the game straight up! That game doesn’t look quite as shocking now with Jacksonville adding another win last week in Cleveland. The team that looked at one point in the season that they may go winless on the year has now won 3 of its last 4 games. The linesmaker still thinks the public isn’t sold on the Jaguars making the Texans 2.5 point road favorites. We’re not going to argue for either side here. Instead we’re going lay our money on the total.
The Texans scored 31 versus the Patriots in a losing cause on Sunday. The 31 points was the 4th time in their last 5 that have scored at least 23 points. They did only score 8 versus theses very same Jaguars in Week 11, but should make the needed adjustments to exploit a defense that has allowed 24 or more points in 9 of their last 10.
The Jags weren’t lighting up the scoreboard until last week where they hung 32 points on the Browns, but they been showing signs of turning it around.
Neither one of these teams has a solid scoring defense with the Jags ranked 30th in scoring and the Texans ranked 27th. We think the previous meeting was a fluke and that that this week the defensive numbers will reflect each teams’ seasonal rankings.
