Detroit Tigers vs. Cleveland Indians Total Pick

Time: 7:15 PM EST Saturday June 21, 2014 FOX

The Cleveland Indians host the Detroit Tigers in game 2 of a 3 game series.

In their last game: The Tigers beat the Indians 6-4 as a +141 dog in a game that was never in doubt. Detroit had a 5 run lead going into the bottom of 8th before Cleveland got to the bullpen for 4 runs to make it close and send it over the closing total of 8.

The win broke off a 4-game win streak by the home team.

The over in Game 1 was the 5th straight in the series and 5-1 this year.

Total Pick:

Can Verlander even pitch anymore? The former star pitcher has been a disaster in his last 3 starts with 19 the opposition pounding him for 19 runs in 19.2 innings. He’s been having a rough go of it since the middle of May with only 1 quality start in 7 outings. He looked OK in his first start against the Indians this season allowing 3 runs, but zero earned runs over 5 innings. Verlander wasn’t so sharp in his latest versus the tribe getting tagged for 11 hits and 5 earned runs in 6 innings at Progressive Field in late May. Bauer goes for Cleveland is coming off of a good outing against the Angels with a quality start, but has been lukewarm this season overall with a mediocre ERA of 4.20. He has only one start versus the visitor and he didn’t embarrass himself with 6 innings of 2-run ball. He did have a lot of base runners in that game and did get tagged for two home runs so I’m projecting him to have as easy a go of it tonight. There’s a solid trend to the over in this matchup and that’s where my money will be tonight. Take Over 8.5 +100
