This Wildcard weekend matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Detroit Lions could turn out to be epic. With the suspension of Ndamukong Suh overturned the Lions enter this game with the best rushing defence in the league. DeMarco Murray the league’s best rusher just got a whole lot harder heading into his very first post season game. Dallas has ridden Murray all the way to the league’s top rushing game and now they face their biggest challenge. Detroit is 11-5 on the season and has held their opponents to just under 70 rushing yards per game. Today their rush defense faces it’s biggest test in Murray who has rushed for 1845 yards this year and broke Emmitt Smith’s franchise record. Dallas has 3 players on their offensive line that have been named to the Pro Bowl and along with Murray this crew have averaged 147.1 yards per game rushing. Dallas quarterback Tony Romo is looking to improve upon his 1-3 playoff record in his first post season performance in 5 years. Historically this year when these two met Detroit managed to erase a 24 point first half lead with a win over the Cowboys 34-30 on the road.
Detroit wide receiver Calvin Johnson posted 1000 yards this year for the fifth straight year and is a huge deep threat for the cowboys. On the opposite side of the field the Cowboys Dez Bryant set and NFL record with 16 touchdowns and 1320 yards receiving. Dallas has won their last 6 of their last 7 games closing out the season with a routing at Washington beating the Redskins 44-17. Detroit has won 4 of its last 5 games. Both teams are matched well on both sides of the ball so this game is going to be one of the most entertaining games of the post season.
In their last games the Cowboys beat the Washington Redskins 44-17 and the Lions lost to the Green Bay Packers 30-20.
This season the Cowboys are 4-4 at home and the Lions are 4-4 on the road.

Free Point Spread Pick
The Cowboy’s beat up on the lowly Redskins and an uninterested Colts team in their last two games leading to this inflated line. The Lions were without their starting center in their last game and still certainly didn’t embarrass themselves in their 30-20 loss at Lambeau Field. Dallas has some injuries on the defensive side of the ball making this an easy play for us.
