Our Selection : The Bengals have lost two games in a row with both losses coming in overtime. Close calls sure, but something doesn’t seem right with Cincinnati and that starts with Andy Dalton. The Bengals signal caller has been sacked 10 times in his last 2 games and certainly the offensive has to take some blame for it, but he Dalton just doesn’t seem to be making the reads quick enough. His accuracy has been off with 6 INT’s in his last 2. Last week Dalton needed a very lucky 51 yards Hail Mary completion as regulation time was running out to surpass 200 yards passing!
It doesn’t look to get better this week facing Cleveland’s No. 5 sack unit and the No. 10 unit in passing yards per game.
Cincinnati’s defensive stats are also solid, but numerous starters are banged up or out including all-world DT Geno Atkins and starting LB’s Rey Maualuga and Vontage Burflict which leaves a huge gap up the middle. Cleveland’s offense has been OK with Jason Campbell at the helm and should have success this week.
The Browns won the earlier meeting and were full value for the victory. Cleveland out-yarded Cincinnati 336-266 and held the Bengals to only 203 yards passing. There is no reason to think that a rested Browns team can not hold their own this week against a struggling QB and battered defense.
