Wei-Yin Chin’s road numbers aren’t something to write to home about although his last outing was better allowing 2 earned runs and striking out 6 in 5 innings. Historically he has pitched well against the Royals with consecutive quality starts including a 7 inning 2 earned run outing earlier this season in Baltimore. I expect more of the same tonight against a Kansas City team that is putting up a meager 2.92 runs per game versus left handed hitting. Ventura is off to a good start this season with 5 QS in 7 starts overall, but he hasn’t been able to last at home with only 1 QS in 3 starts. That being said Ventura was ultra-sharp in his outing versus the Orioles in Baltimore in April shutting out the home team over a season high 8 innings. There is always the risk that the Orioles will have figured him out the second time around, but that’s a risk I’m willing to take based on the other data.
Take Under 7 -115.
